Quayside Terminal
Quayside Terminal is a unique venue hire option for special events including weddings, conventions, exhibitions, conferences and charity balls.
Located on the waterfront at the Port of Townsville and just two kilometres from the Townsville CBD, Quayside Terminal venue offers two main areas for hire including our premium Main Terminal space and the outdoor Breezeway which takes in panoramic views of the city.
With stunning views of Cleveland Bay, Magnetic Island, Castle Hill and Townsville city, Quayside Terminal is Townsville’s premier event and exhibition location.

PLEASE NOTE:
- Quayside Terminal is a dry hire venue. Hirees are responsible for arranging all furniture, staging, catering, A/V equipment, etc through third-party suppliers. The Port can provide a list of recommended vendors if required.
- As Quayside Terminal is an operating cruise ship terminal, event bookings can not be confirmed more than 12 months in advance
- Hirees must have Public Liability Insurance cover of at least $20 million
Main Hall
The glass walls of Quayside Terminal provide uninterrupted views Magnetic Island, Castle Hill and the CBD.
Measuring approx. 710sqm, the Terminal can seat 720 people in a theatre style, up to 470 in a banquet configuration, or exhibitions, or up to 1,000 guests for expos and standing events.
Capacity is currently restricted to 450 people due to COVID-19 safety measures..
Breezeway
The Breezeway, located immediately outside the Main Terminal, is perfect for wedding ceremonies, dinners and cocktail functions. The space is approximately 500sqm and offers panoramic views across Townsville.
The Breezeway can be used exclusively for your event or serve as a pre-dinner drinks area for functions in the Main Terminal.
Gardens
The outdoor grass areas located outside Quayside Terminal showcases spectacular endless views of Magnetic Island, Castle Hill, Ross Creek and the CBD.
This area can host intimate ceremonies and is perfect for small weddings for less than 15 people.
